Reed wins on Friday the 13th
An enthusiastic crowd of 3000 boxing fans were on hand in Topeka, KS Friday night at the Kansas Expo Centre for "Finally" a 12-bout professional boxing event featuring the long awaited local show-down between heavyweights "Dangerous" Damon Reed and Andy "The Sandman" Sample.  As with any local rivalry, this match-up carried more significance to both fighters than any of the combined 100 bouts of their careers.  Both fighters showed up in the best shape of their lives and performed to the best of their abilities.  Reed showed a new and improved jab and an out-put of punches to rival a featherweight.  Sample brought his piston-like jab and the heart and determination to win the fight to rival Arturo Gatti.  Reed was in control from the onset with good upper body movement and solid pressure causing Sample to miss with most of his punches while countering effectively with single and double jabs.  The second round picked up in action with Reed continuing to apply more pressure.  With the need to change the course of the fight, Sample began allowing Reed to get to his body while laying on the ropes and attempting to counter-punch.  Sample countered Reed's body attack with 8 and 10 punch flurries bringing his fans to their feet.  Midway through the third round, Reed landed a solid over-hand right flooring Sample for the first of 7 times of the bout.  Sample showed incredible determination to remain in the fight while getting up after each knockdown and having moments with impressive flurries throughout.  However, the seventh knockdown of the bout occurring in the 6th round was "finally" enough for referee Frank Aguliar to call a halt to the action.

Danger-Fire Promotions also showcased many of their "world-class" talent with Michi "The Matador" Munoz winning a hard fought 6-round decision over Audulen Sloan of Milwaukee, WI.  Donny "The Savage" McCrary dealt Fernando Chacon of Houston, TX a 6-round beating reminiscent of an Oscar Bonnivera fight.  Marcus Oliveria had a hard night's work with Kansas City's Leo Pla in a 4-round decision win.

Danger-Fire's newest charge and top Midwest prospect, Brandon Hoskins(now 4-0), of Hannibal, MO won in impressive fashion with a 3rd round tko over the hometown favorite Cliff Blake(2-1).  Hoskins displayed from the onset the grace and class of a well prepared prospect with crisp punches and combinations to both the body and head.  Blake showed plenty of heart in front of his hometown fans while taking the shots and continuing to press forward.  Blake was able to lure Hoskins into a couple of exchanges resulting in a bit of effectiveness for him.  However, when Hoskins got back on his game and began to box, he overwhelmed Blake combinations causing referee Kevin Champion to rescue the game Blake midway through the third round.
